Freewrite: Let your pen flow and write whatever comes to mind.

Make a List: List ideas, words or phrases that relate to the topic

Write a Letter: Write a letter to the topic as if it were a person. Or, write a letter from the topic to yourself

What If: Explore a different path…What if you made different choices…what if things were different?

Story Rewrite: Rewrite a troubling story about the topic and give it a new, optimistic ending

Snapshot: Describe a vivid moment around that topic, using sensory details

Mindmap: Engage in brainstorming, using a mindmap technique in which you branch out ideas from a center topic

Flip It: Reframe negative belief around the topic into a positive one

Write a Song: Write a song about the topic

Gratitude List: What are things regarding this topic you can be grateful for?

List of Questions: Make a list of questions around this topic. What do you need to know, what could you explore, what could you do differently?

Now vs. Then: Compare your past and present perspectives, beliefs and behaviors around this topic.

Write a Story: Write a story in which the main character faces a challenge around this issue. Or write a story in which your topic is the main character.

List of Beliefs: What are your beliefs about this topic? What beliefs would you like to let go of, and which beliefs do you want to create?

Monologue: Write a dramatic monologue about the topic as if you are on stage sharing your innermost thoughts.

Recipe: What ingredients go into this topic? What elements are important?

Artwork: Draw, paint, create a collage that represents your feelings or ideas around the topic. Have fun with being creative!
